LEX + LES

Their Story

Les and Lex both have pretty cool “God-stories” as they like to call them! They both consider themselves “prodigals” that have been saved by grace. After experiencing the loss of her Father at 16, Lex began to rebel and party…turning to the wrong things for comfort and satisfaction. What began as recreational fun, quickly turned into an addiction. Ashamed and broken, Lex thought she could run from her grief and avoid the reality she had created. Lex reminisces, “having thought I was too far gone, I was amazed that God STILL had a plan for me…and that plan was one of healing and redemption.” In 2016, Lex’s mother found just the right place for her and that place was The Harbor Home for Women, a faith-based transformational ministry. “I found sobriety while being there, but more importantly, I found a long-lasting love relationship with Jesus.”

Through a series of life events, Les also found himself in need of a radical life change. “Honestly, when I came to my senses and looked around, I knew there had to be a better way.” In 2017, Les went to Renewal Ranch for men, another faith-based recovery ministry in Conway, AR.

How They Met

They smile. “Meeting each other after we had both found freedom and wholeness, we had no idea the amazing plan that God had to rebuild our lives…together.” While pursuing their own individual love relationships with Jesus, God decided it was time to bring these two together.  Lex recalls, “I’ll never forget the day I met him! I walked into a room full of people, but I swear he was the ONLY one I saw. I walked right up to him and introduced myself. I said “hey! I don’t know you…my name is Lexi.” And he said, “wow that’s cool…my daughter’s name is Lexi.” Having one look into those soft, sweet Jesus-loving eyes… I was hooked…and the rest is history. He literally was everything I didn’t know I wanted.” “I saw the Spirit all over her.” Les says. “I mean, it just felt like gravity pulling me towards her and I knew, I just knew.”

How He Proposed

Les proposed in February 2020 when Lex got back from a mission trip to Mexico. “I never wanted her to be that far away from me again.” Les recalls. Soon after Les proposed, the couple was married on top of Petit Jean Mountain. Lex remembers, “Our plan was to wait until the fall, but with COVID we didn’t want to quarantine apart, so we decided to have a small gathering and our Pastor married us on the mountain.”

 A Note From The Bride

“God blessed me with a husband, but he also blessed me with a best friend. I have two amazing bonus kids, Lexi (13) and Drew (14), along with our Pitski dog, Nova. Les and I live an abundant life- full of faith, family and fitness. Les is an attorney and I am the Phase 2 Director at The Harbor Home for Women, the same place I found my freedom almost 5 years ago. The promise is true in Ephesians 3:20 that God will bless you “far more than you could ever ask, think, or imagine.”
